By the way, your dinghy works great! It planes easily with a 15 hp outboard and you can back it off to about half power once up on plane. It turns on a dime and is quite dry even in rough weather.

I finally welded the boat out and launched it last week. I powered it with a 15 hp 4 stroke Honda. My son and his friend had the pleasure of operating the boat while I took pictures. Rick the boat operated perfectly, popped out of the water and flew…I mean flew. We clocked it with a gps and were amazed it traveled at 35 kmh with 2 hefty lads aboard. Even with the 4 of us in the boat it traveled safely and very stable. We caught a lot of fish, stares and comments. Great design Rick.

Built with 1/8" plating and all welded seams. She is extra beamy for load carrying. A moderate VEE bottom ensures strength as well as a comfortable ride. She has as a 2" pipe rubrail for hand holds and super strength. The "scuppers" all around under the rub-rails afford plenty of places for tying lines or attaching canvas for cushioning bumpers while along side the mother ship. Plenty of room for cargo and people. Foam Filled Floatation compartments ensure level floatation when swamped. (Customer supplies pour in place foam. ) |
